Fundamental Design Breakthrough

SafeFlush showers - Healthier & sustainable showering

At a Glance

Introducing SafeFlush - Technical shower heads

Healthier and sustainable showering - achieved by advancing Legionella control procedures for when showers are in regular-use, little-use, or, temporarily out-of-use.

Fundamental design breakthrough, accomplished by inventing a unique spray plate, having 360° x 360° orbital positioning and axial movement - quickly locked into positions for directing alternative water flow directions and ventilation.

Identified by a distinctive clock-like face, not for measuring time, but used for emphasising the importance of time keeping and tracking real staff shower attendance, when maintaining Legionella control. Every design aspect developed to instil confidence in our products, Legionella control principles and control procedures - setting the showering benchmark for sustainable Legionella control.

New and improved Legionella control procedures

Dismantling no longer required when cleaning - flip spray plate open and - “EasyClean”.

Legionella control no longer compromised by shower heads collecting Legionella when flushing - “SafeFlush” for sustainable control.

Legionella collected by shower heads in regular-use, now under control - “RefreshFlip”, just seconds to maintain fresher hotel showers.

During holidays, etc., engage “FastDry” - helping to combat limescale problems and slimes.

Wishing to reduce exposure to aerosols when flushing? - ExSpray.

Best Practice Benchmark

After staff shower attendance, the spray plate is flipped over, displaying a different style staff tracker.

QuickAudit now confirms real staff attendance has taken place - supporting audit accuracy.

SafeFlush -Technical shower heads, available for upgrading conventional installations and at a price-point similar to installing typical traditional shower heads.

Taking only a few minutes, and must be provided for designated staff undertaking Legionella control tasks; info sheet available for duty holders.

Broadening Accessibility - Healthier & Sustainable Showering

Broadening accessibility is dependant upon first inventing and successfully developing an improved engineering approach, which must be reliable, practical and also cost-effective. To accomplish this, Aqua Hygiene Products revisited the common Legionella control challenges inherited from the design concept of traditional shower heads, which has evolved little since Legionella was discovered and has been shown to compromise Legionella control; attributed to avoidable infections.

Shower heads are often found in regular-use, little-use and temporarily out-of-use, creating ever-changing habitats that, when unchecked, influence bacteria growth. For shower heads to influence bacteria control, they must readily adapt to ever-changing operational and environmental conditions - the very conditions that has shaped the characteristics of SafeFlush showers.

Traditional shower heads - Legionella control challenges

Identifying the commonly found challenges is useful for duty holders assessing the potential risks to health associated with conventional showering methods. Further discussion also provides a useful insight into how the traditional shower head design concept has now evolved, by making significant design improvements that help to avoid compromises when undertaking Legionella control procedures.

Firstly, we highlight the interrelated areas of shower head design and operation, all of which need to be addressed individually and controlled collectively, for healthier and sustainable showering.
